International Day Of Charity | #BearpawGivesBack Recap

Here at Bearpaw, we're so grateful to have the opportunity to give back in a variety of ways. The Bearpaw company understands the importance of charity, and we try to participate both locally and globally. In honor of the International Day of Charity, we're taking a look back at all of the events we have participated in this year!

St. Jude x Bearpaw

Childhood cancer is diagnosed in about 175,000 children worldwide each year. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way to help treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. With this organization, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.  Throughout these tough times, Bearpaw hopes to help ease and aid these children to live their best life and do so comfortably.

We have teamed up with St. Jude to donate one pair of slippers for every shared post on Facebook and Instagram along with every tweet on Twitter with the hashtag, #Bearpaw❤StJude.

You can also help by adding a $1, $3 or $5 donation to your purchase at Those who donate will receive a special discount code to use on their next purchase.

Walk A Mile

For the second year in a row, Bearpaw teamed up with WEAVE to raise awareness for violence against women. Their Walk A Mile event aims to show solidarity with women by having men walk a mile “in her shoes.” 1,000 men paraded around Sacramento, CA in a fabulous assortment of 3-inch stilettos. The men of Bearpaw had such a fun time strutting their stuff and one of our very own team members was the first to finish, making this 2 years in a row that Bearpaw finished first!

Ticket To Dream

We partnered with Ticket to Dream Foundation once again for our fun-filled Back To School Bash. This year was bigger and better than ever as we outfitted nearly 140 foster kids in the Sacramento area with Bearpaw shoes as well as backpacks, school supplies and so much more! Our event was hosted at Safetyville, USA and had a variety of activities such as tie dye, water balloons, a character station and most importantly, a dunk tank with the president of our company in it!

Boots On Broadway

Bearpaw donated 50 pairs of boots to be decorated by local artists and auctioned off for the charity, Loaves and Fishes. Additionally, we donated 100+ pairs to local guests of the Loaves and Fishes shelter.

Loaves and Fishes is an environment of welcome, hospitality, safety, and cleanliness we seek to provide an oasis for homeless men, women, and children seeking survival services.

Chalk It Up

Chalk It Up aims to empower and support the next generation of Sacramento artists through targeted art grants for young artists and the programs which inspire them. Through this fun-filled event, Chalk It up aims to provide economic support for Youth Arts at all levels.

Habitat for Humanity

Bearpaw teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for a home repair project for a very deserving couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Claghorn live in a home built by Mrs. Claghorn’s grandfather which has been home to five generations in their family. Mr. Claghorn is a Vietnam era Navy Veteran who has suffered injury and had multiple shoulder and back surgeries. Mrs. Claghorn suffers from Crohn’s disease and has had multiple surgeries as well. Due to disability, the Claghorns have not been able to maintain their home and fear having to lose the property that has been part of their family for generations. We are proud to serve a Veteran who served our country first and make their home safe to age in place with dignity!
Team Bearpaw got to work by helping to shingle the roof of the Claghorn’s beloved home. They have lived in their home for nearly 40 years, but their roof was in dire need of repair with leaks coming through and serious deterioration. Not even 104 degree weather could keep the team from completing this task.
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for all of the incredible work they do and we are proud to have once again partnered with them to make our community a better place!
