1.Can you tell us a little about yourself (and your blog/page)?
I’m a medical student (T-1 year til Dr!) and hopefully soon to be a general surgery resident physician! My Instagram page began as my own personal page, sharing my journey through medical school to family and friends, and I guess it inspired some others to follow along too! My page is mostly about medical school, but I like sharing the parts of my life outside medicine too, just to keep it real!
- What inspired you to join the Bearpaw Ambassador program?
I’ve been a Bearpaw fan for YEARS- and most of the ambassadors programs I’ve worked with before are medical companies. Bearpaw is something that represents my lifestyle outside medicine.
- What do you feel makes you unique?
In medical school, I may not be the smartest student, but I will outwork anyone and have fun doing it. I try to find joy in everything and enjoy my days as much as possible. That’s hard to find in the tiring field of medicine.
- How would you describe your style?
I like to have the cutest style possible while being comfy! I work crazy long days and need my outfits and shoes to keep me comfortable all day.
- Who has been the biggest influence on your style?
Probably my other friends in medical school…we wear such a weird mix of casual scrubs and fancy business outfits that it’s hard to find inspiration- haha!
- What do you do in your spare time?
When I’m not studying? Work out, cook, watch Netflix (The Office, Gilmore Girls, and Grey’s Anatomy are my go tos)
- What is your go-to fashion look?
When I’m not in scrubs…Skinny jeans, a cute and soft top (tank tops or button ups usually) with booties or sandals!
- What are your top 5 pieces from Bearpaw?
My forever favorites for Minnesota winters- classic Emma Tall boots! The Knit Tall boots were my favorite when playing college soccer for after games. Krista boots were my favorite this winter- the Never Wet technology was so clutch! Nadine sandals for summer time. Rosalina for laying around the house.
- How do you #livelifecomfortably?
Comfy clothes! I always keep an extra pair of comfy shoes in my car in case I’m ever in a situation where my feet just need a break. I get the comfiest scrubs I can, shop forever until I find comfy business shoes, and when I’m studying at home, you’ll find me in sweats and slippers! Feeling good in what you wear is key to comfort.
- What skill would you like to master?
Aside from many surgical and procedural skills…I’d love to improve my cooking skills- especially cooking meat and fish. I always seem to dry it out!
- What fictional place would you most like to go?
Seattle Grace Hospital from Grey’s Anatomy!
- What songs have you completely memorized?
Probably anything by Taylor Swift and sooo many Disney songs
- Are you usually early or late?
Perpetually 5 minutes late unless it’s for surgery- then I’m super early!
- What are some small things that make your day better?
Words of encouragement- I love getting sweet texts from my Dad, letters from my grandpa, or encouragement from other doctors that I’m doing well.
- What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Sleeping, going to the beach, working out, and trying out a fun restaurant
- What’s the best single day on the calendar?
July 4th because it’s a fun holiday and my birthday 🙂
- What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
- What’s the best way to start the day?
With coffee and motivational music!
- What movie title best describes your life?
Sleeping Beauty because you’ll always find my sleeping whenever I have the chance! lol!
- What quirks do you have?
For someone who wants to go into surgery, I’m pretty clumsy outside the hospital! I drop things constantly and am always running into doors and stubbing my toe. People make fun of me all the time, haha!
