This week’s ambassador spotlight is all about Monica Ketchum, creator of mommameetsworld.com and loving Michigan-based mom! Monica is all about her family, and she spreads that love with her followers. She’s down-to-earth, adventurous and we’re so lucky to have her in our ambassador program! Read more about Monica:
- Can you tell us a little about yourself (and your blog/page)?
I’m Monica, wife to Jon and mama to Zeke and Charlie! We live in the middle of nowhere, with our two mini American Eskimos, and are neighbors to my parents! Mommameetsworld.com is a blog I started after Zeke was born; sharing mama encouragement, products I love, and how I keep Christ at the center of motherhood!
- What inspired you to join the Bearpaw Ambassador program?
My family loves Bearpaw. I’ve had boots for years and I love the comfort! Who doesn’t like to #livelifecomfortably?! I also adore what Bearpaw does for others, with all of their donations and the customer service which is incredible in this fast paced world. Bearpaw is the best! And I love promoting things that are the best, so…here we are! 🙂
- What do you feel makes you unique?
I’m not sure how to answer this really, because I’m just a mama, trusting God to get through each day with these kiddos; I’m really just an ordinary woman, serving an extraordinary God and trying my best to raise kind, Jesus-loving humans.
- How would you describe your style?
I’m Dutch big time, so usually my style is “clearance rack” style, but I like neutral things, stripes and soft textures! I have minimal clothes because it’s less stress! And the style of our new home will be farmhouse, but of course!
- Who has been the biggest influence on your style?
I have to say myself…I learned a while ago that looking at others leads to envy…”I wish I had that” or “I wish I could afford that.” So I chose to stick with my own style of simple, neutral colors and cute shoes.
- What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a mom of two under two…what is spare time??? But in all seriousness…I take a lot of photos, paddleboard, find petosky stones in Charlevoix, MI, watch movies with the husband, and go on lots of adventure walks with the family.
- What is your go-to fashion look?
Simple. A comfy pair of jeans, flowy, soft top, and my #BearpawEllen.
- What are your top 5 pieces from Bearpaw?
Ellen is definitely number one.
Krista is a great boot.
Frankie is super lightweight and fashionable.
Julianna is a very comfortable sandal!
Toddler Emma is the best for Zeke and all his adventures!
- How do you #livelifecomfortably?
I don’t get much rest with a 21 month old and a two month old, so I #livelifecomfortably in my Ellen’s…everyday, all day. Seriously, I got to get a second pair so I can have an indoor and outdoor pair!
- What skill would you like to master?
Paddle boarding with Zekie boy on the front while baby-wearing little Charlie girl. Hurry up summer!
- What fictional place would you most like to go?
Central Perk. ☕ #FriendsForever (fun fact: I’ve seen Friends 15 times all the way through—that’s either incredibly sad or awesome depending on how you look at it 😂)
- What songs have you completely memorized?
Name a Jesus song and I’ve probably got it memorized. There are too many favorites to even mention.
- Are you usually early or late?
Definitely early. (But man, sometimes kids make that hard!)
- What are some small things that make your day better?
Zeke kisses, Charlie smiles, decaf coffee in my yeti, bible study and long walks.
- What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Driving up north to Traverse City, or Charlevoix and just tinkering around the town. Finding petoskey stones is the best.
- What’s the best single day on the calendar?
What difficult questions…every single day is a new adventure, a new day to praise Jesus and count your blessings…some days are good and some are bad, but each is a gift.
- What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Michigan is home to me…so Palm Springs, CA was the farthest. Unless Jamaica is farther? Hopefully I can answer this question someday with “Ireland” or “Scotland”…but until then, we just journey around the USA.
- What’s the best way to start the day?
Jesus. Praying and asking Him into your day, counting your blessings and realizing that He will get you through everything you’re faced with.
- What movie title best describes your life?
Parenthood or It’s A Wonderful Life…a good mix of both of those names ❤
- What quirks do you have?
I had to ask my husband for help with this one. I can’t stand melted ice cream, the whole family has to match before we leave the house, and my scrambled eggs cannot be over cooked 😝.
